The 2001 Vintage in Napa was phenomenal, the wines showing layers of depth and complexity similar to that of 1997. Aromatics of black berry fruit, red pepper, chocolate and vanillin oak lead you into a deeply concentrated wine with flavors of black cherry, black berry preserve and chocolate. The attack is big; the wine is very full-bodied and deeply layered as a Corley Reserve Cabernet should be. This wine should hit its stride in the next decade (2010-2019), and I absolutely look forward to sharing this wine with my three month old son turns twenty-one in 2025.
