Elegance in a glass since 1989!

Tietjen Vineyard is located in the renowned Rutherford Bench area of Napa Valley, This region is the gentle slope of the Mayacamas mountains starting just north of the village of Rutherford and running south to just beyond Oakville.

This 7-acre vineyard, farmed with meticulous attention, including hand-picking and frequent pruning, produces low yields for maximum quality.

Long-time friend and partner Hugh Tietjen established this vineyard in 1987. The Corley family has worked very closely and collaboratively with theHugh to create this elegant wine. While the wine continues as an important component of the our Corley Reserve Cabernet, we have produced this Single Vineyard offering since 1989.

Tasting Notes
Our CORLEY Tietjen Vineyard wine is offering fantastic primary aromas of rich, ripe red berry fruit. I find undertones of sweet vanillin oak and hints of caramel. On the palate the wine is massive, with a wonderful core of fruit on the full mid palate. The balance of the wine from front to back is impeccable, and the finish is long and carries the fruit beautifully. - Chris Corley

CONNOISSEURS’ GUIDE *ONE STAR (90 points - Fine example of wine without notable flaws.) Solid and sturdy without giving itself over to toothy tannins and a wine that counts very good balance among its achievements, this weighty, nicely textured working sets its sights on precise, currant-like fruit early on and refuses to let go. Well-integrated elements of vanilla-bean oak and scant touches of sweet, dusty soil bring a degree of added complexity, and, if sure to age well by dint of its fine balance, its lack of grabby astringency makes it one to consider in only a few years. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vineyard Notes
Located in the Rutherford AVA, our Tietjen Vineyard produces Cabernets that are rich, ripe, and elegant. The well-drained soils are composed of gravel, loam and sand with volcanic and marine influences. These components create the signature flavors of Rutherford Dust that this region is famous for.
Production Notes
As of the time of this writing, the 2015 vintage represents the fourth of five consecutive years of phenomenal quality wines from our vineyards and across Napa Valley. 2015 remained a relatively dry growing season, and the crop yields across our different vineyards was generally lower than normal. The fruit displayed great purity and intensity, which was translated quite well through to the finished wines. The growing season was relatively consistent, with no major heat spikes. In general, the wines from 2015 are displaying ripe fruit, great structure and balance.
Winemaker Notes
We suggest decanting for 30-60 minutes prior to serving.
